Seminole Wind under sail

Seminole Wind is not a race boat, she is built for oceans with a kindly sea motion in the roughest of seas. Her long encapsulated keel has many benefits over deep fin keels. Our draft is less so we can get into more places including the Rio Dulce’s shallow entrance. Unlike bolted fin keels it can’t fall off, there are no keel bolts to worry about but the extra wetted area increases drag. However, we ar no slouch as our friend in his 57’ Farr with 9’ fin keel found out when he tried to pass us and failed. This video clip shows her at her finest in a brisk breeze on a glorious reach of the coast of Roatan.
