Our good friends and regular sailing companions, Art & Sharon David are always a welcome addition to the crew and Art has been known to bring a camera
One day we might have to surgically remove Art’s Camera.
A life through the lens. It’s so much a part of him its hard to know where one starts and the other ends.
There’s a reason why he keeps winning photo competitions, well several really. He has a great eye for composition and colour, he works at the science and art of photography and his camera is forever in his hand. These are some of the results of a trip to the Honduras Bay Islands.
People and Places
We walk through places and see the people sights and sounds. Art sees an image that somehow captures the moment. This is especially true of the people we meet along the way. some how they are more than a picture, the capture the essence person and a peek into of the lives so different from our own.
The tiny Sheen Cay at Guanaja is home to the town of Bonacca. The majority of the Island’s 5500 population is crowded together in this strange place with no streets or privacy. A major hurricane wrecked it once and 2 years ago a third of the houses burnt down in a huge fire but the people like it here so they just rebuild and leave the larger island pretty much empty.
